Robotics - Robobricks2 - Sonar6 (REv. B)

1.0   Introduction

2.0  Revision Details

The historical detail of the revisions between subsequent versions of this brick will be detailed here.  Only revisions that create differences in the operation, programming or hookup of two modules with different revision numbers will be documented.

Rev A to Rev B - In Rev B,

 3.0   Hookup Details

The servo headers correspond to the information on the circuit diagram accordingly:

  • N1 = SNR0 = Sonar 1

  • N2 = SNR1 = Sonar 2

  • N3 = SNR2 = Sonar 3

  • N4 = SNR3 = Sonar 4

  • N5 = SNR4 = Sonar 5

  • N6 = SNR5 = Sonar 6

3.0.1 Using the Parallax Ping Sonar Module

The Ping sonar module has only three connections Gnd, +5v and an I/O pin.

Jumper Setting:  The Ping module uses only one I/O pin for both the transmit and receive.  So if, for example, a Ping module is attached to N5, then Pin 3 and Pin 4 of N5 will need to be connected together and this is accomplished by inserting a jumper at J5.

3.0.2 Using the Devantech SRF04 Sonar Module

                                                                              Front                                                                                          Back

Jumper Setting: While the the Ping module uses only one I/O pin for both transmit and receive, the SFR04 module uses separate I/O pins for each Consequentially, no jumpers are used for any port with an SFR04 attached.
